Meet Fruit Club—Field Trip

Darren Murphy, the president of Bainbridge Island Fruit Club, is hosting a tour of his property to show people how to grow fruits and vegetables in limited space.

This field trip, organized by the Food Resilience Team and Veg Club, happens August 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. Visitors will see how Murphy grows more than 200 varieties of fruit in his not-so-big suburban garden including apples, pears, plums, cherries, peaches, figs, grapes, kiwis, strawberries, and cane fruits. 

Murphy will show how to use variety choice, grafting, and different kinds of raised beds and containers to get the most out of limited space.
