Terra Anderson of South Whidbey Prepares (SWP) reached out to tell us that their organization’s website went live on November 16. SWP is modeled after Bainbridge Prepares.

The website’s About us page reads, “We’re grateful for the mentorship of Bainbridge Prepares and the Camano Island Preparedness Group, who share their lessons and best practices. Together, we’re part of a growing network of islands building resilience from the ground up.”

Terra said to a select group of mentors, “We took inspirations from your sites as well as others around the country.”

One of the best parts of the website outlines a road map for preparedness that includes the following recommendation: “Celebrate every step! We won’t do this if we don’t have fun ☺️.” Agreed!

South Whidbey is home to 15,000 people.

SWP is also one of the early testers of Prepare Your Community, our sister nonprofit, which is sharing the Bainbridge Model™ with communities nationwide.

Congrats, SWP! We’re proud to call you family.
