We call it Day of Preparedness, and it’s the best time all year to meet with the trained volunteers and team leads at Bainbridge Prepares and its partners—the City of Bainbridge Island and the Fire Department—to learn how to prepare your household.

Here are the top 5 reasons to attend:

1. Meet our new Executive Director Dominique Cantwell.

2. Pick up free items for your emergency kits (while supplies last) including water filtration tablets, water pouches, seed packets, LED flashlights, first aid supplies, and emergency food.

3. Gather information at our range of booths: communications/power, PSE’s Wildfire Program, water and water heater maintenance, gardening and emergency food options, fire extinguisher use, the Map Your Neighborhood Program, gear bags, animal readiness, psychological first aid, child safety, and disaster hubs.

4. Get yourself a signature Ready Raccoon T-shirt or hoody.

5. Enter to win a door prize by making a donation to BP. You could win a Fi Pet Tracker collar, a Jackery generator, a water storage kit, a NOAA weather radio, or an Ignik Gas Growler.
