Fruit Club Grows for Helpline
Bainbridge Island Fruit Club has joined the BP Food Resilience Team's Grow for Helpline initiative. They're thinning and protecting apples at the publicly owned Johnson Farm so they'll grow big and healthy for donation this fall. You can join in this uplifting way to meet like-minded folks while doing good in a beautiful setting and learning how to thwart pests and grow your own great apples.
Help thin apples on Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Johnson Farm is located on NE Twin Ponds Road on Bainbridge.
Park near the barn. Bring gloves, clippers, and apple socks if you have any. If you can, bring extras for those who don’t know what they are.
The farm is managed by Friends of the Farms. Check them out and learn more ways to help our very stressed food bank.
