BP and Partners Host Fire Extinguisher Event

Saturday, May 9, you can take care of all your fire extinguisher needs: Get your extinguishers inspected, serviced replaced, and upgraded. You can also practice using them.

The event happens from 9 am to 1 pm in the Winslow Wharf Marina parking lot at 141 Parfitt Way.

Services

  • Fire extinguisher inspection

  • Fire extinguisher servicing. Regular servicing is a requirement for boaters’ reusable fire extinguishers, which also require additional inspection every 6 years and testing every 12 years.

    • Starting at $15

    • 6 year (internal exam)/12 year (hydrostatic test) maintenance for 5 lb. ABC: $65

    • 6 year (internal exam)/12 year (hydrostatic test) maintenance for 10 lb. ABC: $95

    • 6 year (internal exam)/12 year (hydrostatic test) maintenance for Halotron: $135

  • Purchase of new extinguishers:

    • $65 for a 2.5 lb. w/bracket

    • $85 for a 5 lb. w/bracket

  • Extinguished exchange for an upgrade.

  • Disposal of unserviceable extinguishers for free.

  • Dispose of expired flares and fireworks for free.

  • Try using a real fire extinguisher.

  • Buy fresh hand-held flares at a 10 percent discount.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will also be offering Boater Vessel Safety Inspections.
