September 11 Remembrance Ceremony

On the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Bainbridge Island Fire Department is hosting a remembrance ceremony in partnership with American Legion Colin Hyde Post 172 and the Bainbridge Island Police Department.

The ceremony will honor the 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers who lost their lives while responding to the attacks in New York City.  

The program includes

  • Performances by Bainbridge Chorale

  • Remarks from representatives of the Bainbridge Island Fire Department and Bainbridge Island Police Department

  • Personal reflections from Earl Johnson, a 9/11 survivor and former Bainbridge Island Fire Department Commissioner

The event happens Friday, September 11, at 11 a.m. at the Bainbridge Island Fire Department Station 21, 8895 Madison Ave NE.

Additional parking is available across the street at First Baptist Church.
