Give to BP Now to Make Bainbridge Tomorrow Ready
We need your help to make Bainbridge “Tomorrow Ready.” The Tomorrow Ready project will fund at least six Functional Exercises for Bainbridge Prepares volunteers.
The “Tomorrow Ready” exercises—held between July 2026 and June 2027—will strengthen volunteers' existing capacity by testing capabilities, refining standard operating procedures, and preparing the BP volunteer force for the COBI "Ready Together 2027" Full-Scale Exercise next year. This will ensure our community can respond swiftly to catastrophic events when off-island help is cut off, such as during a major earthquake.
For example, by ensuring our volunteer teams can efficiently set up and staff Disaster Hubs, life-saving information and services will be accessible to all residents, tourists, and day laborers, regardless of socioeconomic status.
Bainbridge Gives
BP submitted an application to the Bainbridge Community Foundation (BCF) to fund the campaign. BCF volunteer reviewers approved BP moving to the funding phase. BCF grants are funded through a combination of BCF discretionary funds, donor-advised funds, and community donations during the Bainbridge Gives campaign.
Each year, BCF provides seed funding to launch the campaign. Now through June 12, we will all work together as a community to raise $1.15 million in approved grant requests recommended by the volunteer evaluation teams.
Every donation made through Bainbridge Gives goes directly to support approved grant requests. BCF also covers all credit card processing fees, ensuring that 100 percent of donor contributions support community impact.
The BCF funding criteria met by BP’s application are
clear community benefit and unmet need;
simple, meaningful outcomes;
organizational readiness and good stewardship; and
equity, access, and affordability.
