February: Food
When a disaster happens, on the island we’re on our own for weeks at the very least. What are you and your family going to eat?
BASIC
Store enough food for 30 days.
Store it in a cool, dry place where it won’t get damaged or freeze.
ADVANCED
Start a garden in your yard, on a balcony, indoors, in a shared area, or on a rooftop.
Store a campstove or outdoor grill plus fuel so you can cook outdoors if the power goes out.
Keep cooking utensils and supplies on hand for emergencies.
PRO
Learn how to dry, can, and ferment food for long-term storage.
Create a community garden for you and your neighbors.
Grow extra food to give to food pantries.
Create an edible food forest for your community.

Submit the required documentation.
Prize
Your submission will be entered in a drawing to win the February prize: A 72-hour emergency food supply.
You may submit your documentation at any time up until the end of the first Friday of the following month. You may submit early for ensuing months. Remember to stamp your passport for each completed month.
