Messaging, Media, & Engagement

The MME Team is a dedicated group all about getting people engaged in emergency prep and providing them with critical information. The team’s audience are citizens and BP volunteers. The MME Team uses various platforms including the website, electronic newsletters, social media, printed materials, and community events to engage and communicate with citizens and volunteers.

The team's approach is rooted in love, not fear, as it guides citizens through different stages of awareness toward meaningful action.

An Informed Community Is a Resilient Community

Mission and Community Impact:

The MME Team’s mission is to support and engage the community and BP volunteers with information through all kinds of media.

About the Team:

The MME Team works before disaster to make sure all community members are informed about likely disasters, how to prepare for them, and how to respond when they happen. The team works to connect and engage volunteers, fostering collaboration and understanding of supportive communication systems and procedures. In addition, the Team supports the media needs of BP teams, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging and generating blog articles and printed materials.

Once activated, the team responds to the City’s Emergency Operations Center to support the City’s Emergency Manager and Public Information Officer in messaging and information dissemination.

Guided by the leadership of Sarah Lane, with support from Executive Director Dominique Cantwell, Emergency Manager Anne LeSage, and BP Founder Scott James, the MEMe Team exemplifies our community's commitment to clear communication, inclusivity, and collective resilience.

Community Partner News Submission Form

Does your organization have emergency preparedness–related news or information you want included in the Bainbridge Prepares blog? If your event, news, or information is relevant to our audience, we will happily create a website blog post and share to our social media. Incomplete submissions will not be considered (we’re busy preparing our favorite community and don’t have extra time to chase down details).
