The Logistics Team serves as a centralized resource to handle requests and volunteer contributions during emergencies. The Logistics team is responsible for collecting, organizing, and redistributing donated and acquired materials as directed by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The mission of the team is to effectively manage the flow of resources during a crisis, ensuring that the community's needs are addressed promptly and efficiently. This team plays a vital role in facilitating aid, leveraging the goodwill of citizens and organizations alike. In doing so, they strengthen the community's ability to withstand emergencies, fostering resilience and unity through effective logistics.

About the Team:

The Logistics team stands as a beacon of effective resource management in times of crisis. They are responsible for handling all inbound needs requests from citizens and organizations until the EOC is activated. Moreover, they are adept at managing inbound offers of time and resources from citizens. The team consists of liaisons to newly activated partner organizations in the community such as BARN and pop-up organizing groups on social media like Mask Makers. By swiftly responding to requests for additional personnel power, they ensure that credentialed resources like CERT can be activated in a timely manner.

Resources and Questions

  • The team prepares for major disasters by establishing protocols for the collection, organization, and redistribution of resources. They coordinate with community organizations and keep an updated inventory of available resources and potential volunteers.

  • During an activation, the team coordinates the collection and distribution of donated and acquired materials. They respond to needs requests from citizens and organizations, and manage the contribution of time and resources from community members.

  • The team is activated during an emergency or disaster when there is a need to manage resources efficiently, ensuring they reach those who need them most.

  • Support from the team can be requested through the Emergency Operations Center during a disaster or emergency situation.
