Miss the Child Safety and Reunification Town Hall? Watch It Here
Last Sunday evening, March 24, Bainbridge Prepares hosted a Child Safety and Reunification Town Hall to address the issue of child-family reunification during disasters on the Island. The event, which was held at Bainbridge High School, included opening remarks by BP founder Scott James, information about the City’s role given by the City’s Emergency Management Coordinator Anne LeSage, and a panel discussion. The panel featured Dane Fenwick, BISD Director of Facilities & Operations; Corinne Wolffe, Executive Director of KiDiMU; and Meghan Kane Skotheim, Head of the Montessori Country School. It was moderated by Kari Seybolt-Murphy, Bainbridge Prepares’ Child Safety & Reunification Team Lead.
The first 50 people to sign up for the event were given Bainbridge Prepares Prep Pouches manufactured by Cascadia Ready. These pouches, which retail for $39, are intended to support a person on the move (such as a kid at school or a commuter).
Each kit includes two emergency water pouches (4.226 oz each), a 90 percent heat reflective emergency blanket, a 12-hour glow stick, an air-activated 24-hour body warmer, a dust mask, an Adventure Medical Kits waterproof medical kit, and an emergency contact card.
