A partnership between Bainbridge Prepares, the City, the Bainbridge Island Police Department, the Bainbridge Island Fire Department, and the Kitsap Public Health District is offering training to the public on how to respond to drug overdose.

February 23 to 25, a couple dozen members of the Bainbridge Prepares Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) met up at Fire Station 21 to renew their Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification by completing a hybrid course taught through CPR Seattle and certified by NASAR (National Association of Search and Rescue).

The public is invited to attend a new training opportunity, a FEMA class called Until Help Arrives. The class is being offered March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the House of Awakened Culture in Suquamish through a partnership among Kitsap911, North Kitsap Fire & Rescue, and Suquamish Community Health.
